Chanticleer, called “simply one of the world’s best ensembles” by the San Francisco Chronicle, will perform in Colorado Springs for the first time since 2016. Now in their 45th season, Chanticleer has earned lavish praise from audiences around the world for their tonal beauty and clarity of sound. This 3-time Grammy award-winning ensemble’s October 9th program, entitled Labyrinths, presents an intriguing diversity of musical adventures as the audience is guided through a “labyrinth” of paths from the Renaissance to our own era. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Chanticleer in concert!
Tickets: Preferred seating - $35. General Seating - $30. Tickets available online by clicking the link above or in the Music and Arts Office. For additional information, contact Jeanna Wearing at firstname.lastname@example.org or 719-471-8522, Ext. 110.
Named after the clear-singing rooster in Chaucer's "Cantebury Tales", Chanticleer is based in San Francisco and presents approximately 100 concerts every year throughout the world. Now, in its 45th season, Chanticleer's repertoire spans 10 centuries from Gregorian Chant, Renaissance polyphony and the Romantic era - and includes contemporary music of our own time, jazz, spirituals, and world music. Chanticleer has recorded more than 40 albums and was named Billboard magazine's "Top 10 Best-Selling Classical Artists". In 2008, Chanticleer was inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame.
All 12 Chanticleer singers are full-time musicians paid an annual salary which is rare for a vocal ensemble. In the 2020-2021 season, Chanticleer named Tim Keeler as its new Music Director. In its 45-year history, Mr. Keeler is only the sixth Music Director, and the fourth of six Directors to have been a singing member of Chanticleer.
