An important part of First United Methodist Church is our growth as disciples of Jesus the Christ. Beyond Sunday morning worship, the best practice for maturing in faith is to gather in small groups for study, prayer, discussions, relationship building and expanding our comfort zones. We have many ways for adults to connect and grow in their faith. Whatever you are looking for, we have a place for you.

A JESUS SHAPED LIFE

This class will explore Jesus stories and our growth as his disciples by using shapes to help our understanding. This class is designed to be a come-as-you-can experience. You don't have to attend every week to participate. There is no book to purchase or advance work to do. Just show up with your Bible and a notebook for taking notes.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT FAITH ACADEMY

CONTEMPLATIVE
WORSHIP

Taize music with a fuller band experience and Lectio-Divina. Lectio is the process of reading a scripture repeatedly for deeper insights. The scripture for each Wednesday will focus on the parable for Faith Academy afterward.

FAITH ACADEMY

A panel of 3 persons will present interpretations on the parables Jesus told from 3 different perspectives. The panel includes Bruce Phillips, who will offer a traditional interpretation; Rev. Eric, who will offer a progressive perspective; and Rev. Carrie, who will offer the perspective from the viewpoint of folks outside of the church may need to hear.

OTHER FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES

NOAH

We offer special programs for our Senior Adults (age 50+). We call them NOAH, which means Never Old At Heart. This group has breakfast and lunch gatherings, banquets with great entertainment, special classes offered on topics pertinent to Seniors, and monthly Christian Fellowship trips.
