We believe pouring love into our youth is vital for our church and the community. In our group of 6th-12th graders, there are those who are trying to decide if a life of faith is for them, those who are beginning to grow in a new relationship with Christ, and those who are deepening their walk with God. The Youth Ministry at First United Methodist Church is striving to make better students, leaders, and followers of Christ, for the betterment of our world. We are achieving this by teaching relevant lessons, engaging in deepening conversations, inviting all people, growing healthy relationships and serving all within our community. By embracing the challenges of adolescence, messy spirituality, and the holy art of play, we provide a space for discovery with the continual and overwhelming presence of God’s Grace and Love. If you are willing to become a friend to others, dig deeper spiritually, and serve humbly like Jesus did, this is a place for you to consider.

Our Youth area is in The Zone, in the South basement at FUMC. We have a comfortable coffee house and a game room with pool table, ping-pong, foosball, video games and a snack bar. Come join us! Come as you are!

If you have any questions about upcoming events or anything having to do with FUMY, don't hesitate to contact Rev. Amy Strader at (719)471-8522 x102 or amys@fumc-cs.org

Youth Forms

Please submit a Yearly Youth Registration Form to include all of your children, 6th - 12th grade. This form is required to be submitted to First United Methodist Church Youth Ministry once for the current school year (September through August). This keeps us updated with any allergies, contact information, and more. Up to three children from the same family can be registered on one yearly registration form.  Yearly Registration Form

719FUMY RETREATS at JOHN WESLEY RANCH

We have at least two Youth Retreats at John Wesley Ranch Retreat Center each year. One is in the Fall and one in the Winter. The Ranch is FUMC's awesome get-away up in the mountains, just south of Divide, Colorado. These events focus on a specific topic for spiritual growth for the entire weekend with lots of food and fun mixed in.

All details are mailed out ahead of time, so make sure we have you on our mailing list by contacting Rev. Amy Strader at 719-471-8522 x102 or amys@fumc-cs.org. Prior to a retreat, information will also be available here and in our publications.  Consider joining us!

Are you getting ready for a retreat? Wondering if you have everything packed? Make sure by checking out the Retreat Packing List HERE

719FUMY Mission Trips

Serving others as Christ did is one of the "big three" reasons our ministry exists (the other two reasons are "Inviting Friendships" and "Digging Deeper Spirituality"). Mission opportunities abound for our youth! There are times throughout the year to serve locally and each summer, we gather up all the energy and God's love we can to go out beyond our community to serve those in need. We often think we are "taking Christ" to others, but what we find is that He is already there within those we serve and relate to. Consider joining us and finding God by serving.

Here are some of the ways our FUMC Youth have and will continue to serve:

Learning and serving on our trip to Milwaukee, WI, set for another summer!
John Wesley Ranch Mission/Work Week (repairing, fire mitigation, trail-building)
Serving as co-leaders at the Tweens4God (T4G) Camp at John Wesley Ranch
Doing wildfire recovery work near-by with CUSP
Completing trail and park clean-up projects here in town
Fundraising for Veteran Support Services
Fundraising for The Place
Inside-Out Fundraising
Serving with Feed My Starving Children
