FUMC Preschool Offers the following classes:

• Young Toddlers, known as MMO (18 mths through 2-1/2 years), T/TH, M/W/F, or M-F
• Toddlers (2-1/2 - 3 years), T/TH, M/W/F, or M-F
• Preschool (3-4 years, toilet-trained), T/TH, M/W/F, or M-F
•  Pre-K (4-5 years), M-F

We believe in learning based play. Within the children's play, we incorporate science, mathematical concepts, pre-writing activities, beginning literacy skills, self-help skills, process-oriented art, and social studies. The environment is arranged to allow children the opportunity to safely explore and freely choose their own activities. Lesson plans are based on the children's interest and include large group and individual goals. We keep our classroom's size smaller which helps in building relationships with each child and their family. Our program successfully partners with parents to nurture and facilitate a relationship with each individual child that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and cooperation. Based on relational spirituality, children experience prayer, stillness and wonder in their day-to-day activities as well as during specially designed sacred times. Each day, children bring a snack to eat together in class.

This state-licensed program offers keypad safety and a clean and bright environment in a convenient downtown setting. All classrooms are equipped with child-sized sinks and child-sized toilets to support and encourage self-care and toilet learning.

Sacred Circle:
The Director of Children's Ministries meets with the preschool children monthly. Each lesson surrounds the children with experiences that reflect God's love for them, which includes stillness, prayer and wonder. Each classroom teacher offers a sacred circle throughout the week to remind the children that they are loved and that they are a blessing.

"SOUNS^®" Literacy Program:
FUMC Preschool has adopted the SOUNS literacy program.  It is a hands-on literacy program for all ages.  Our goal is to give all children a strong foundation to become successful readers.

Culture of Wellness in Preschools:
FUMC Preschool has worked with and adopted this program.  It is a creative, fun, and experiential way for kids to learn about and incorporate healthy eating and increase physical activities into their daily lives.

Scholastic Book Club:
FUMC Preschool has partnered with Scholastic Book Club.  Scholastics has made discovering the joy of reading a cherished part of childhood for generations of readers.  We provide the opportunity to order books every other month. 

Lunch Bunch:
12:15 pm - 1:00 pm, Cost: $8.00 per day/per child
12:15 pm - 2:00 pm, Cost: $16.00 per day/per child

The Lunch Bunch program is an additional program for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years old enrolled in our morning preschool and is offered Monday through Thursday. This program allows parents the option to pick up at a later time and is a fun way to make a great day a little longer Parents may choose one or more days per week. Registration is required and space is limited. This is a multi-age program. Children who are registered for the program will be brought to the Lunch Bunch room by their classroom teacher. Lunch Bunch is ideal for children who will enjoy eating lunch that is brought from home while socializing with their friends and teachers. Children will also have the opportunity for free play. 

Before School Care:
8:30 am - 9:00 am
$5.00 drop-off Fee

Before School Care (BSC) is an optional supervised service that allows parents to drop-off their child before the regular school hours. The BSC teacher will take your child to class at the start of school.
