Prayer Ministry Opportunities

Lifting one another up to God is an important way we care for each other. Prayer cards are available in the pews. After they are dropped in the offering plate on Sundays, they are disseminated to FUMC clergy and to concerned prayer servants for prayerful intercession. You can also place your prayer requests HERE.

We have a variety of prayer ministries throughout the church: in the building and online. In this way, we lift one another up and bring the healing presence of Christ. If you would like to learn more about the ways in which we care for one another please take time to read about our ministries below.

I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray.
~Psalm 17:6

Intercessory Prayer Group
There is an intercessory group who regularly lifts up all the prayer requests on-line.  All prayer requests are handled with extreme care and confidentiality as we pray for your situation.

Contemplative Prayer Group. NOT IN PERSON MEETING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE CHECK FOR ONLINE OFFERINGS.
There is a weekly contemplative prayer group that meets to practice centering prayer and Lectio Divina.  The church also offers regular opportunities to deepen one’s relationship with God through the teaching of contemplative practices.

  • RESTING IN GOD: Contemplative Prayer. NOT IN PERSON MEETING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Come and listen to the voice of divine love! You are invited to join a contemplative prayer group that meets in the FUMC prayer room on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.This time provides for a period of Centering Prayer (a silent form of Christian meditation), followed by Lectio Divina (meditative reading of Scripture).  Familiarity with these spiritual practices are not necessary as an introduction can be provided at any time to newcomers.  This is a drop in prayer group, meaning that you can come as your schedule allows. For more information, contact Rev. Patty Walker, at [email protected] or 471-8522, ext.204.

  • HOLY LISTENING. NOT IN PERSON MEETING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The Prayer Room. NOT IN PERSON MEETING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
The Prayer Room is located in the south wing, Room 231. It is available for quiet prayer and was blessed with a prayer that God’s Spirit would open communication, minister to souls, and comfort hearts of all who enter this place of prayer.

Prayer Shawl Ministry. NOT IN PERSON MEETING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Prayer Shawl Ministry, comprised of 15-20 active members, knit and crochet together as they pray over those who will receive the tangible warmth and comfort of their labor and prayers. If you are interested in joining any of the above prayer ministries, contact Rev. Patty Walker at 719.471.8522, ext. 204.

Do you have a prayer request?
Your prayer concerns are important to us and that's why each and every prayer request we receive is prayed for by the ministerial staff as well as by concerned prayer servants.
