Hello Prairie Campus families!! This is our final week of discovering "Where in the World is God?" So far we have traveled so many different places in the United States and even some international locations, so where else could we go?!? Out of this world!!! This week we will learn about creation too. I hope you enjoy traveling to space this week!! Thank you for being a blessing!! - Ms. Stacy

WELCOMING GUEST PREACHER REV. STEVE BURNETT
This coming Sunday, August 2, we welcome Rev. Steve Burnett as our guest preacher! Steve is married to Ingrid, an artist in pastels and oils, a second career for her after 20 years in university libraries and museums. He is proud of his daughter Sarah (a kindergarten teacher), who lives in Colorado Springs with her husband Steve and daughters Ellen and Ada. Upon earning his Doctor of Ministry from Claremont School of Theology, Steve returned to serve in his native Mississippi Conference in local churches and as Conference Director of Youth, Young Adults and Outdoor Education. In 1984, he transferred to the Rocky Mountain Conference where he served pastorates in Colorado Springs, Steamboat Springs, Pueblo and Casper, WY. He served six years as a district superintendent in northern Colorado and two years in the Denver/Colorado Springs area. After “retiring” in 2014, Steve has been coaching pastors, teaching adult classes, serving on the Mountain Sky UM Foundation Board, and completed an interim at Trinity UMC. He enjoys travel (non-COVID era), rare books, reading, gardening, and takes his frustrations out weekly on golf balls. Steve and Ingrid were part of the team that came out from downtown FUMC to start the Prairie Campus and they have given their hearts and souls to helping it grow, including being on the music team, setup coordinators, small group leadership, etc.
RECIPE ROUND UP! PRAIRIE CAMPUS VIRTUAL RECIPE SHARE
We are a POTLUCK CHURCH! Wonderful memories have been made as we’ve gathered around tables for a time of friends, food, and fellowship. While our potlucks are currently on hold, we’d love to continue a part of this tradition with a Recipe Share! Maybe you’re cooking more these days and wishing you had some new recipes. We can help! In the coming weeks, on Facebook, we’ll feature terrific recipes from some of you!
So dish it! Submit your favorite easy recipes to [email protected]. Please include with your recipe: the title of your recipe, and (optional) how the recipe is special to you (i.e. Is it an old family recipe? Is there a fun story attached to it? Any cultural significance?). Let’s connect through cooking!
Mission & Values
A church isn’t a building, it’s a collection of people. We know that firsthand. We meet in a school. So, for us, church is definitely not about location. It’s about a people who gather in the midst of God’s love, which is present even in a school gym!
Our team, led by Rev. Patty Walker, is excited to lead this new campus into growing together and serve the community around us to show them the love of God.
