One year ago, life stopped. Interrupted. Whether you were planning for vacation, Easter, or fall 2020... life was interrupted. We wondered, was Jesus' life ever interrupted? We were worried that there wouldn’t be enough stories for a series… we were wrong. There are plenty of stories of Jesus’ Life Interrupted and God showing up with blessing and hope in the midst of it all. Join us each Sunday, at 10:00 AM online or in-person as we explore just a few ways Jesus’ life was interrupted along the way.?

Each section below contains the sermon, as preached, and will later contain podcasts with commentary, and a link to more information for each sermon.

Life Interrupted by Friends

May 2, 2021 - Week 3

Have you ever been interrupted while you were speaking? Just imagining standing in front of people and being interrupted gets our fight or flight system pumping into high gear! How would I respond? Would I make a fool of myself? What in the world would force me to speak in public?!? Could you imagine being the one DOING the interruption? What would it take for you to crawl on someone’s home and remove a part of their roof to interrupt someone that many had come from far and wide to hear?

Life Interrupted by death

May 9, 2021 - Week 4

There are moments in life when we are stopped short by death. Death of a loved one. Death of a dream. Death of a way of life.

We can’t explain to you why bad things happen (but people always try). This is a mystery that humanity has wrestled with since we could think big thoughts. But what we can believe, is that our God, who doesn’t make tragedy happen, does not have shallow words of comfort but goes into the depths of grief and pain and fear. And anger. And meets us there with compassion. Compassion: to feel with.

Life Interrupted by Faith

May 16, 2021 - Week 5

When has your life been interrupted by a glimpse of the sacred? You know, those moments where goose bumps rise up along your skin, your eyes well up with tears, you know what you are seeing is something… well, sacred. We don’t always know the life changing moments for what they are until later, sometimes much later. But sometimes... sometimes we see something so clearly, we know the sacred just touched our life’s path.

Life Interrupted by Seeing

May 23, 2021 - Week 6

Have you ever heard that still small voice nudging you to stop? To look, to see? Join us this Sunday for “Life Interrupted by Seeing” sermon and bluegrass service. It is so easy to go through life, hurry, hurry to the next thing, don’t stop to see the pain and the suffering around you… but then, there is a nudging. A small prickle that says stop, look, you are needed, right here. Right now… did you stop? Did you stop and see the need, the suffering and stay with that moments as long as there was need? Or did you just keep on racing through? Unwilling to stop for anything, or anyone?
