Invitation into Community

Kids are welcome!

We love our little wild hearts! Children are invited to us for worship in the parking lot. We will have a space specifically set aside, upfront, so they can really see, and be part of, what is happening. Marjorie Gross, our Director of Children's Ministries will be teaching them, guiding them, and answering questions that they may have.  If you have kiddos or know of kiddos that would enjoy this experience, please invite them to join us!

Heartstrings Swag is here!

We have keychains prayer beads (one per person please!) Please let Tiffany know you would like one by calling or emailing an address for us to send one to or grab one while you are here at the church.

Would you like a Heartstrings Trucker cap?  Maybe a cup?  Please consider donating at least $5 per item (plus a little for shipping) to the church, and then letting us know where to send your swag! (You can donate online here.) (Tiffany is trying to track this, but you might want to drop her an email so she knows you donated!

Order of Worship - April 11, 2021

Invitation to Worship

Gathering Music - Get in the Boat, Heartstrings Band

Get in the boat, get in the boat // Straighten up and walk the narrow way // You better read your Bible, believe the words He wrote // If you can't walk on water then you better get in the boat

Jesus gave the blind man back his sight // Jesus turned the water into wine // We are just His children lost without His grace // Boys and girls you better get in your place

Get in the boat, get in the boat // Straighten up and walk the narrow way // You better read your Bible, believe the words He wrote // If you can't walk on water then you better get in the boat

They took Him and they nailed Him to a cross // He gave His life so we would not be lost // The devil stirs the water and we must sink or swim // Jesus is the boat so get on in

Get in the boat, get in the boat // Straighten up and walk the narrow way // You better read your Bible, believe the words He wrote // If you can't walk on water then you better get in the boat

Now you know Jesus multiplied the loaves // He multiplied the fishes we've been told // He multiplied our blessings and took away our sin // Jesus is the boat, you better get in

Get in the boat, get in the boat // Straighten up and walk the narrow way // You better read your Bible, believe the words He wrote // If you can't walk on water then you better get in the boat // Get in the boat, get in the boat // Straighten up and walk the narrow way // You better read your Bible, believe the words He wrote // If you can't walk on water then you better get in the boat

Welcome - Adam Gardino

Opening Prayer

God, you are our strength and our shield; our hearts trust in you, in you we have found our courage; our wild hearts dance for joy, and in our songs, we will praise you. Amen

Invitation to Worship through Praise - Rock of Ages, Cleft for MeHeartstrings Band

Rock of Ages, cleft for me, // Let me hide myself in Thee; // Let the water and the blood, // From Thy wounded side which flowed, // Be of sin the double cure, // Save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labor of my hands // Can fulfill Thy law's demands; // Could my zeal no respite know, // Could my tears forever flow, // All for sin could not atone // Thou must save, and thou alone.

Nothing in my hands I bring, // Simply to Thy cross I cling; // Naked, come to Thee for dress, // Helpless, look to Thee for grace: // Foul, I to the fountain fly, // Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath, // When mine eyes shall close in death, // When I soar to worlds unknown, // See Thee on Thy judgment throne, // Rock of Ages, cleft for me, // Let me hide myself in Thee.

Community Invitation - Kent Ingram

Welcome to Community

We are radically, intentionally, connectional. Connection is fundamental to our gatherings. So, will you take a moment to say “hi” or send a wave? Say good morning to one another by commenting, texting, calling, give your loved ones a hug if you are sitting by them, somehow connect during this time of greeting…. We want people to know that their church family is thinking about them.

Invitation into Community

If this is your first time with us, will you let us know you are here? Drop-in your email below, on Facebook, or email Tiffany. We would love to know you've joined us!

Heart of Worship

Time of Offering - I Love to Tell the Story, Heartstrings Band

I love to tell the story of unseen things above, // Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love; // I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true, // It satisfies my longings as nothing else would do.

I love to tell the story, // ’Twill be my theme in glory, // To tell the old, old story // Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, more wonderful it seems // Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams; // I love to tell the story, it did so much for me, // And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.

I love to tell the story, // ’Twill be my theme in glory, // To tell the old, old story // Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, ’tis pleasant to repeat, // What seems each time I tell it more wonderfully sweet; // I love to tell the story, for some have never heard // The message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.

I love to tell the story, // ’Twill be my theme in glory, // To tell the old, old story // Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, for those who know it best // Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest; // And when in scenes of glory I sing the new, new song, // ’Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.

Pastoral Prayer - Ann McClellan

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Worship Song - Stand Up for Jesus,  Heartstrings Band

Stand up! stand up for Jesus! // Ye soldiers of the cross; // Lift high His royal banner, // It must not suffer loss: // From vict'ry unto vict'ry // His army shall He lead, // Till every foe is vanquished // And Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up! stand up for Jesus! // Stand in His strength alone; // The arm of flesh will fail you; // Ye dare not trust your own. // Put on the Gospel armor, // each piece put on with prayer // Where duty calls, or danger, // Be never wanting there.

Stand up! stand up for Jesus! // The strife will not be long: // This day the noise of battle, // The next the victor's song; // To those who vanquish evil // A crown of life shall be; // they with the King of glory, // Shall reign eternally.

Scripture -  John 20:19-31

Invitation to the Table - Ann McClellan

Commitment to Courageous Discipleship

Prayer After Receiving - Ann McClellan

Invitation to Christian Discipleship - When He Reached Down for Me, Heartstrings Band

Once my soul was astray from the heavenly way // I was tempted and blind as could be // But my Saviour above, reached down in love // When he reached down his hand for me

When my Savior reached down for me // When he reached way down for me. // I was lost and undone
without my God or his son // When he reached down his hand for me

I was near to despair when he came to me there // And he showed me that I could be free // Then he lifted my feet gave me gladness complete // When he reached down his hand for me

When my Savior reached down for me // When he reached way down for me. // I was lost and undone
without my God or his son // When he reached down his hand for me

How my heart does rejoice, Since I made him my choice // In a tempest to him I can flee // There to lean on his arms, Safe, secure from all harm // When my Savior reached down for me.

When my Savior reached down for me // When he reached way down for me. // I was lost and undone
without my God or his son // When he reached down his hand for me

Benediction - Ann McClellan

Go with God as your strength and shield; May your hearts trust in the one who created you, go with courage; may your wild hearts continue to dance for joy, and in the song of your life, praise your God. Now and Forever, Amen.

Sending Music - Farther Along, Heartstrings Band

Tempted and tried we're oft made to wonder // Why it should be thus, all the day long // While there are others, living about us // Never molested though in the wrong.

Farther along we'll know all about it // Farther along we'll understand why // Cheer up my brother
live in the sunshine // We'll understand it all by and by.

When death has come and taken our love ones // It leaves our homes so lonely and drear // And then do we wonder, why others prosper // Living so wicked year after year.

Farther along we'll know all about it // Farther along we'll understand why // Cheer up my brother
live in the sunshine // We'll understand it all by and by.

When we see Jesus coming in glory // When he comes down from his home in the sky // Then we shall meet him in that bright mansion // We'll understand it all by and by.

Farther along we'll know all about it // Farther along we'll understand why // Cheer up my brother
live in the sunshine // We'll understand it all by and by.
