Welcome to Heartstrings worship! Heartstrings is a worshiping community built around passionate preaching, uplifting bluegrass music and a challenge to be courageous followers of Christ. We meet each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in the north Parking lot of First United Methodist Church as a Drive-in service. The order of service is found below on this page. You can check out past videos and other information on the Heartstrings Facebook page. Heartstrings is a ministry of First United Methodist Church of Colorado Springs. We are all about worship, bluegrass and wild hearts!
God, you are our strength and our shield; our hearts trust in you, in you we have found our courage; our wild hearts dance for joy, and in our songs, we will praise you. Amen
Starting January 10, we will dig deep into the verse that will define us in years (and hopefully generation!) to come. We are going to examine Psalm 28:7, it’s statements for faith, call to courage, and promises of joy. We are using this Psalm for our opening liturgy in the form of an invocation, and for our closing liturgy in the form of a sending benediction. This 6-week sermon series is going to guide us through these words that will be our statement of faith and foundational “vision” for who we are and why we come together to worship. This series will be intentional about defining the Heartstrings worshipping community.
We will gather online and in the parking lot, each Sunday at 10:00 am. “Like” or “Follow” the Heartstrings Facebook page for worship, music, the sermon, and tons of weekly extras!
Go with God as your strength and shield; May your hearts trust in the one who created you, go with courage; may your wild hearts continue to dance for joy, and in the song of your life, praise your God. Now and Forever, Amen.

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
Refrain:
Leaning, leaning,
Safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms

Community Invitation - Tiffany Keith
Welcome to Community
We are radically, intentionally, connectional. Connection is fundamental to our gatherings. So, will you take a moment to say “hi” or send a wave? Say good morning to one another by commenting, texting, calling, give your loved ones a hug if you are sitting by them, somehow connect during this time of greeting…. We want people to know that their church family is thinking about them.

Worship through Offering our Gifts and our Lives - In the Sweet By and By, Heartstrings Band
Verse 1
There's a land that is fairer than day,
and by faith we can see it afar;
for the Father waits over the way
to prepare us a dwelling place there.
Refrain:
In the sweet by and by,
we shall meet on that beautiful shore.
In the sweet by and by,
we shall meet on that beautiful shore.
Verse 2
We shall sing on that beautiful shore
the melodious songs of the blest;
and our spirits shall sorrow no more,
not a sigh for the blessing of rest. [Refrain]
Refrain
Verse 3
To our bountiful Father above
we will offer our tribute of praise
for the glorious gift of his love
and the blessings that hallow our days. [Refrain]
Pastoral Prayer - Todd Spencer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Worship Song -In The Garden (UMH 314), Heartstrings Band
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The son of God discloses.
Refrain
And he walks with me and he talks with me
And he tells me I am his own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known.
He speaks and the sound of his voice is so sweet
The birds hush their singing
And the melody that he gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
Refrain
I'd stay in the garden with him
Though the night around me is falling
But He bids me go through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling...
Refrain

Invitation to Christian Discipleship - Wild Hearts, Heartstrings Band
God isn't tame, Our God is free // God has no limits, no boundaries // That's the wild heart of our Savior // There's no distance God wouldn't go // To chase us down, to bring us hope // That's the wild heart of our Savior
God's running, running To the ends of the earth // God stops at nothing 'Til we return // We're coming back We're coming back to God's heart
When God speaks, the whole world shakes // The darkness trembles at the name // It's the wild heart of our Savior // Extravagant, relentless still // We're sons and daughters, God calls us children // The wild heart of our Savior
God's running, running To the ends of the earth // God stops at nothing 'Til we return // We're coming back We're coming back to God's heart
God's running, running To the ends of the earth // God stops at nothing 'Til we return // We're coming back We're coming back to God's heart
Wilder than a fire As boundless as the sea // Your love is on the move And it's coming after me // It's Your nature to be gracious // You've loved us from the start // You'll never stop pursuing With Your wild heart
Wilder than a fire As boundless as the sea // Your love is on the move And it's coming after me // It's Your nature to be gracious // You've loved us from the start // You'll never stop pursuing With Your wild heart
God's running, running To the ends of the earth // God stops at nothing 'Til we return // We're coming back We're coming back to God's heart
God's running, running To the ends of the earth // God stops at nothing 'Til we return // We're coming back We're coming back to God's heart
Benediction
Go with God as your strength and shield; May your hearts trust in the one who created you, go with courage; may your wild hearts continue to dance for joy, and in the song of your life, praise your God. Now and Forever, Amen.
