Invitation to Worship

Gathering Music -Lazarus

[Verse 1]
Hey Lazarus you fell to the ground
(Lazarus died)
Right there in the heart of town
(Lazarus died)
People gathered all around
(Lazarus died)
Lazarus Lazarus where did you go
when you left this mortal world?

[Verse 2]
We wrapped you up in your death clothes
(Everyone cried)
We said goodbye and the tomb was closed
(Everyone cried)
Then Jesus spoke and you arose
(Everyone cried)
Crying Lazarus Lazarus how did it feel
when you left this mortal world?

[Chorus]
Lazarus oh Lazarus have you heard the news?
They nailed Jesus to a cross—
is there something you can do?
Lazarus can you bring Him back
like He did for you?
For He has left this mortal world

[Verse 3]
Will you pray the prayer you know how
(Lazarus prayed)
Bring Him back to life somehow
(Lazarus prayed)
But Jesus is in God’s hands now
(Lazarus prayed)
Well Lazarus I do believe
that Jesus still lives beyond this mortal world

[Chorus]
Lazarus oh Lazarus have you heard the news?
They nailed Jesus to a cross—
is there something you can do?
Lazarus can you bring Him back
like He did for you?
For He has left this mortal world

Opening Prayer

God, you are our strength and our shield; our hearts trust in you, in you we have found our courage; our wild hearts dance for joy, and in our songs, we will praise you. Amen

Welcome to Community - Tiffany Keith

We are radically, intentionally, connectional. Connection is fundamental to our gatherings. So, will you take a moment to say “hi” or send a wave? Say good morning to one another by commenting, texting, calling, give your loved ones a hug if you are sitting by them, somehow connect during this time of greeting. We want people to know that their church family is thinking about them.

Invitation into Community

If this is your first time with us, will you let us know you are here? Drop in your email below, on Facebook, or email Tiffany. We would love to know you've joined us!

Heart of Worship

Time of Offering - He's Holding On To Me

[Verse 1]
There's a path along life's highway
so common and well trod
By the shoes of burdened Christians
who won't put their trust in God
They've been born of the Spirit
but they live by what they see
So they trust in their own effort
never living in belief

[Chorus]
I'm not holding on to Jesus
He's holding on to me
He died and rose again to set me free
I am resting in the Spirit
not afraid of what will be
I'm not holding on to Jesus
He's holding on to me

[Verse 2]
If you're living in the dungeon
in the heavy chains of fear
Don't live another minute
in the lies you're holding dear
The chains have all been shattered
the light is streaming in
You can't close your eyes forever
to the One who lives within

[Chorus]
I'm not holding on to Jesus
He's holding on to me
He died and rose again to set me free
I am resting in the Spirit
not afraid of what will be
I'm not holding on to Jesus
He's holding on to me

[Chorus]
I'm not holding on to Jesus
He's holding on to me
He died and rose again to set me free
I am resting in the Spirit
not afraid of what will be
I'm not holding on to Jesus
He's holding on to me

Pastoral Prayer - Ann McClellan

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Worship Song - Great Speckled Bird

[Verse 1]
What a beautiful thought I am thinking
Concerning a great speckled bird
Remember her name is recorded
On the pages of God's Holy Word.

[Verse 2]
Desiring to lower her standard
They watch every move that she makes
They long to find fault with her teachings
But really they find no mistake.

[Verse 3]
I am glad I have learned of her meekness
I am proud that my name is on her book
For I want to be one never fearing
The face of my Savior to look.

[Verse 4]
When He cometh descending from heaven
On the cloud that He writes in His Word
I'll be joyfully carried to meet Him
On the wings of that great speckled bird.

Scripture - John 13:31-35

Commitment to Courageous Discipleship

Prayer After Receiving

Invitation to Christian Discipleship -You Don't Have to Move That Mountain

[Chorus]
You don't have to move that mountain
Just help me Lord to climb it
You don't have to move that stumblin' block
Just show me the way around it

[Verse 1]
We must climb a great high mountain
To reach God's gracious kingdom
But in His words you'll find the strength
If you will just believe them

[Chorus]
'Cause you don't have to move that mountain
Just help me Lord to climb it
You don't have to move that stumblin' block
Just show me the way around it

[Verse 2]
Well the way is filled with pitfalls
And sometimes we may falter
But you can have His grace my friend
On your knees down at the altar

[Chorus]
'Cause you don't have to move that mountain
Just help me Lord to climb it
You don't have to move that stumblin' block
Just show me the way around it

Benediction - Tiffany Keith

Go with God as your strength and shield; May your hearts trust in the one who created you, go with courage; may your wild hearts continue to dance for joy, and in the song of your life, praise your God. Now and Forever, Amen.

The “Hatching” of Entrepreneurs in Project Rahab

On April 30, two new female entrepreneurs were “hatched” into the Colorado Springs small business community. This came as a result of a program at Creations @ The Edge: Project Rahab. Project Rahab is a small cohort of women who experience a significant barrier to employment. For the past seven months, we met weekly to incubate their dreams of being their own bosses. We did inventory of their resources and needs. Insecurities, fears, trauma, mental health, systemic poverty and family dynamics were all addressed to clear the way for business plans, budgets, logos and websites. After their hard work, we had a “Hatching Party”, where they shared their elevator pitches with family and friends. Rev. Heather McDuffee and Pryncess Favors are so proud to introduce to you these new small business owners: Fawna Charles, owner of Mindful Hippie Candles LLC; and Shequan Smith, owner of Mentally Ill LLC. You can find their products at Creations @ The Edge, located at 324 N. Nevada Ave.
