Cowboy Church 2021

COME AS YOU ARE, WORSHIP IN YOUR CAR!
(or in chairs, at tables, in the grass… whatever is comfortable for you.)
Cowboy Church is back! Join us June 6 through June 9 for worship with some country flair in the North Parking lot of the downtown campus (St. Vrain and Nevada).. Each evening at 6:30 PM, we will gather to preach, pray, sing, and collect an offering. The preachers on staff are going to bring us a word of hope and Good news. Who knows? Maybe one of them will make it a true revival and come up with a way to do an altar call from your car! (Or maybe not!)
See ya’ll there!

Order of Service - Tuesday, June 8

  • Prelude
  • Welcome and Invocation - Bruce
  • Opening Hymn - Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! // O what a foretaste of glory divine! // Heir of salvation, purchase of God, // born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.

This is my story, this is my song, // praising my Savior all the day long; // this is my story, this is my song, // praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight, // visions of rapture now burst on my sight; // angels descending bring from above // echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

This is my story, this is my song, // praising my Savior all the day long; // this is my story, this is my song, // praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, all is at rest; // I in my Savior am happy and blest, // watching and waiting, looking above, // filled with his goodness, lost in his love.

This is my story, this is my song, // praising my Savior all the day long; // this is my story, this is my song, // praising my Savior all the day long.

  • Hymn of Preparation - Leaning on the Everlasting Arms

What a fellowship, what a joy divine, // leaning on the everlasting arms; // what a blessedness, what a peace is mine, // leaning on the everlasting arms.

Leaning, leaning, // safe and secure from all alarms; // leaning, leaning, // leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, // leaning on the everlasting arms; // O how bright the path grows from day to day, // leaning on the everlasting arms.

Leaning, leaning, // safe and secure from all alarms; // leaning, leaning, // leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear, // leaning on the everlasting arms? // I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, // leaning on the everlasting arms.

Leaning, leaning, // safe and secure from all alarms; // leaning, leaning, // leaning on the everlasting arms.

  • Scripture/Sermon - Marjorie
  • Closing Hymn - Softly and Tenderly

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, // calling for you and for me; // see, on the portals he's waiting and watching, // watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home; // you who are weary come home; // earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, // calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading, // pleading for you and for me? // Why should we linger and heed not his mercies, // mercies for you and for me? //

Come home, come home; // you who are weary come home; // earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, // calling, O sinner, come home!

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing, // passing from you and from me; // shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming, // coming for you and for me.

Come home, come home; // you who are weary come home; // earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, // calling, O sinner, come home!

O for the wonderful love he has promised, // promised for you and for me! // Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon, // pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home; // you who are weary come home; // earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, // calling, O sinner, come home!

Order of Service - Wednesday, June 9

  • Prelude
  • Welcome and Invocation - Bruce
  • Opening Hymn - Open My Eyes

Open my eyes, that I may see // glimpses of truth thou hast for me; // place in my hands the wonderful key // that shall unclasp and set me free. // Silently now I wait for thee, // ready, my God, thy will to see. // Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Open my ears, that I may hear // voices of truth thou sendest clear; // and while the wavenotes fall on my ear, // everything false will disappear. // Silently now I wait for thee, // ready, my God, thy will to see. // Open my ears, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Open my mouth, and let me bear // gladly the warm truth everywhere; // open my heart and let me prepare // love with thy children thus to share. // Silently now I wait for thee, // ready, my God, thy will to see. // Open my heart, illumine me, Spirit divine!

  • Hymn of Preparation - Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound // that saved a wretch like me! // I once was lost, but now am found; // was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, // and grace my fears relieved; // how precious did that grace appear // the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares, // I have already come; // 'tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, // and grace will lead me home.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound // that saved a wretch like me! // I once was lost, but now am found; // was blind, but now I see.

  • Scripture/Sermon - Zach
  • Communion - Kent
  • Closing Hymn - Just As I Am

Just as I am, without one plea, // but that thy blood was shed for me, // and that thou bidst me come to thee, // O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about // with many a conflict, many a doubt, // fightings and fears within, without, // O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind; // sight, riches, healing of the mind, // yea, all I need in thee to find, // O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, thy love unknown // hath broken every barrier down; // now, to be thine, yea thine alone, // O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
