A NOTE FROM MARJORIE
Happy New Year!
It was so wonderful to see so many of you over the past month. So many of you came to Christmas Treasures, which was so much fun. A big thank you to all the volunteers who made the event happen!
The Family Christmas Eve Service was super well attended, and a wonderful time. Thank you to all who participated, as well as to all the acolytes over the Christmas Eve Services.
January is a quiet month, with no events scheduled. The next event on the calendar is the Winter Festival (also known as Sled Day), which is February 26th at John Wesley Ranch in Divide, CO. In addition to sledding, there will be other activities which will be announced as we get closer. Looking further ahead, there will be a Family Ash Wednesday Service on March 2nd. These are just reminders to save the dates! Details will be in our February newsletter.
January is traditionally a time to set intentions for the year to come. Do you set intentions or resolutions? Some people set goals that take lots of effort to accomplish, others set goals that are easier to accomplish. Often the goals are around health - work out more, eat better, find a therapist, etc. But my challenge for you is this: what are your goals for your spiritual growth this year?
Study after study shows how important parents, guardians, and beloved grownups are in the spiritual development of children. Church can only do so much when it comes to nurturing the relationship the kids have with God. How are you modeling a deep, growing relationship with God at home?
It can be as simple as reading your Bible or devotional in the living room while the kids play nearby. It can be praying as a family, or talking about serving others, or so many other practices.
How can I help support you? I am always happy to recommend books, personal or family devotionals, and spiritual practices specific for your families needs. I can connect you with Bible studies, classes and more. I love helping families with this, and it is a joy to help - please never hesitate to reach out!
Lastly - as COVID continues to be a concern, I want to let you know that the staff communicates at least weekly about best practices. We remain committed to following guidelines to the best of our ability, and we are very intentional about protecting the kids. We will continue to require masks in Kingdom City, as well as continue to enforce handwashing and social distancing. If anything changes, we will communicate it as quickly and thoroughly as possible
