Beautiful Mountain Sabbath

We had another beautiful Mountain Sabbath at John Wesley Ranch on Sunday. Along with worship, spiritual practices and laughter, we enjoyed some learning around 5 myths about meditation. Thank you to Kent Bair for sharing your "Art as Prayer" option and sharing your tasty homemade muffins! Thank you to Jane Scanlon for leading your "Contemplative Walk" option and for that colorful and inviting altar activity during our concluding Holy Communion gathering. Can't wait until our next Mountain Sabbath on July 24th (more information to come)!

Summer Service Projects
NEW DATE! Service Project #1: On Saturday, August 6, 9am-4pm, our Ranch Caretaker, Zach Walker, has invited us to form a team of men to complete needed projects at John Wesley Ranch. There are lots of needs to assist with, like splitting wood, gleaning the forest of dead trees and more. Will you let me know if you are interested in serving on the team that day, please? 
 
Service Project #2: Also this summer, date TBA, I would like to form a team for another day-long service project on behalf of a church-member in need. This particular project will be mostly debris and trash removal. I'll rent a roll-off dumpster or two for us to fill up. This will make their home so much safer. I'll reach back out about this project with more details this spring. 
 
Fall Men's Retreat with Guest Speaker Dave Torbett
Save the date! On the weekend of October 28-30, you are invited to join us at John Wesley Ranch for a men's retreat with one of the world's finest story- tellers, Dave Torbett, Camp Director of Riverside Camp in Labelle, Florida. I'll be sharing more on the theme, cost, registration deadline and such this summer but save the date now. Cook Needed for this Retreat: We are looking for a cook, who will purchase the food (you'll be reimbursed) and head-up the cooking for 5 meals (Friday Dinner through Sunday Breakfast). Some of us can assist you in cooking, if you would like.
