In 1971, William Mason, a member of First United Methodist Church wrote of our church’s history, “To write a history of the First United Methodist Church means to search and discover those events, which unfold into a fascinating story of the faith and determination of 23 people, to establish a Methodist Church in a territory town on the western plains at the foot of towering mountains.” Taking just a few minutes to look around this church, we cannot help but be deeply grateful for all of those that came before us.
Today, we continue to build on the foundation laid almost 150 years ago, as we envision the fascinating future God has in store for First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs. We are dreaming big as we establish a United Methodist Church in the prairies of Colorado Springs, the FUMC Prairie Campus. We are, with faith and determination, envisioning a bold future as we sing, preach, teach, worship, and reach out in mission to the hurting of our world.
This congregation has been touching lives in Colorado Springs and around the world since 1871. Will you join us as we dream big dreams, create disciples, and transform the world with the love of Jesus Christ?
