Faith Academy - Session 1

September 19 & 26 and October 3 & 10

Covenant Bible Study
Leader: Rev. Kent Ingram
Location: Parlor
Two Class Options: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m. OR Thursdays at 9:00 a.m.
Cost: $30 per participant (covers materials)

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 12
Register by contacting Rev. Dr. Todd Spencer at or 471-8522

Rev. Kent Ingram will be leading a new comprehensive, in-depth study of the whole Bible! What makes the Covenant Bible Study unique is its focus on the biblical concept of covenant as a unifying theme through both the Old and New Testaments. It underscores the unique relationship that God chooses to have with us as God’s people. This relationship is grounded in the faithfulness of God’s love and on our ongoing commitment to stay in relationship with God, all while we share signs of God's love with others. Each week’s session will begin with the class watching a brief video conversation between a biblical scholar and other spiritual leaders. Then, Rev. Ingram will guide the groups through a time of conversation around the weekly reading assignments in light of the video content.  Be sure to register by September 12, as there are limited spots and so that we have all of the materials in time to start the following week!

Biblical Archeology
Leader: Bruce Phillips
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Room 234

Archeologists and historians have spent centuries trying to find artifacts and locations to better understand the Biblical world and, in some cases, attempt to prove the Bible’s validity. Join us as we look at the history of archeology in the Holy Land, what we have learned about Biblical times, and how that can help our understanding of the Bible today. For more information contact Bruce Phillips at

Short Films with Soul
Leaders: Rev. Dr. Todd Spencer and Freddie Bogardus
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Room 235

It’s been said that the bourgeoning art form of the short film is the heart and soul of cinema but sadly, so many of these worthwhile works go entirely unnoticed. During this class, we will watch one or two short films each week and have spiritual-theological conversation around the themes that bubble up to the surface. Come ready to explore metaphorical meanings, get to know new friends and share a few laughs along the way!
