For the two Faith Academy sessions this fall Rev. Ingram will lead a Bible study of the Gospel of Mark. The oldest Gospel in the New Testament, it offers insights into the earliest views of Jesus and what a disciple of Jesus would look like. All you need is a Bible! We can supply you with one if you need it. Come any week you are able. Join us as we look at the stories of Jesus found in our oldest Gospel!

The Real Message of Revelation: “I’ve read the End of the Book. We Win!”
Leader: Bruce Phillips
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
September 11, 18, & 25, October 2, 9, & 30, November 6, 13 & 20
The book of Revelation is full of confusing symbols, images, and language and most of the time we are not sure what they mean or why they are even in the Bible. But if we examine and reject the misinterpretations and consider how its original audience understood it, we can discover the very relevant message Revelation has for us today.
Southernmost Reading Group
Leader: Tim Latzke
DEADLINE to Sign up: September 7 (You will need to purchase your own book)
Sundays, September 15, October 6, & 20 and November 3 & 17.
This five-session book discussion group will be on the novel Southernmost - a book about an evangelical pastor from Tennessee who offers shelter to two gay men during a flood and the personal fall-out he experiences from that act of Christ-like love. Given the recent decisions of the UMC 2019 General Conference, the book is an exploration on themes of love of neighbor, acceptance, and the impact of religion. The five discussions will be spread out over the fall semester of Faith Academy on Sunday afternoons (see dates above). The location and exact time are TBD, based on attendance. To sign up, or for additional information, please contact Tim Latzke at 719-235-7182 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. When you sign up, be sure include your name, phone number and email address. Tim will contact you with exact times and location. Don’t forget to sign up by September 7th!
