9:00 am - 9:30 am BREAKFAST CLUB in THE ZONE
Continental style breakfast and hanging out.
Join us for a bite to eat, game to play, catching up with friends, making new ones, or an early morning nap. Cereal, snacks, juice, even waffles. Our gracious hosts Lynda and Heather continue to love us, by feeding our stomachs. Life is already hard; so don’t make it harder, by skipping breakfast.
9:30 am - 10:30 am YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS, HIBBARD HALL
Song & Scripture "Rocktober"
Led by Zach Walker, Room 52
This Youth Sunday School class focuses on being intentional. Intentionally listen to God, for God, and seeing him anywhere and everywhere. We take the songs that make it on the radio. Listen for what God can teach us through others, as we share scripture, ideas, and stories, that not only inspire, but remind us that God is not just at Church. This month we’ll be talking about harder topics, so we will need “harder” music. Rock, Rap, and the Fruit of the Spirit, all in Rocktober!
10:30 am - 11:00 am HANG TIME in THE ZONE
The Zone closes at 11:00 am
(Breakfast only served 9:00 am - 9:30 am)
CROSSWALK TALK WITH ZACH
I am humbled and amazed already by the love and support y’all (Texan) have shown me. Excitement, hope, and peace are my main emotions these days. I am excited to meet you, lead you, grow with you, and serve alongside you. As a graduate of this wonderful program I feel like I have so many ideas to bring, and yet after meeting the YAT team, I realize you had them all too. Lastly, I am at peace knowing I am suppose to be here, discerning a call is never easy, but my journey to this place will hopefully make me a better Minister. I still have a lot of learning to do, a lot of growing to do, but I know I am where I belong. I am not here to drastically change this place, just share my passion for God and for students… there are a few things that I hope will never change: Inviting, Serving, and Digging.
Keep Looking Up!
Youth & Adult LYM Gatherings
YOUTH ADVISORY TEAM (YAT) MEETINGS
Sundays, October 22, November 12, and December 10
12:15 pm - 1:30 pm, The Zone
Every so many weeks a few of us gather to reflect on past youth events and plan upcoming gatherings. We will eat, reflect on how the fall is going so far, and look forward to upcoming events including the winter retreat. The YAT would love to add your voice to the plans!
YOUTH LEADERSHIP MEETINGS
Wednesdays, October 25, November 15, December 10
5:45 pm - 6:30 pm, Zach's Office
LYM GROWING GATHERING
Leaders are learners. Each youth ministry volunteer is asked to continue growing together with God and our team on behalf of our teenagers and church. We will take this opportunity to hear a presentation on an important topic facing teenagers and have an un-hurried conversation — which is just not possible during the normal course of our activities. Thank you, leaders, for your faithfulness! Next meeting date TBD.
STAND at URBAN PEAK
Fridays, October 6, November 3, and December 1
3:15 pm - 5:00 pm, Urban Peak Shelter
STAND (STudents And Nourishing Dinners) is our youth mission of preparing dinners at Urban Peak (a shelter for homeless teens). We are looking for youth to volunteer with the cooking. Also, we are in need of various food items. If you are interested in helping with any of these needs please text/call Sam Brooks at 719-494-3303.
BE BLESSED, BE A BLESSING
Wednesday, November 1, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, in The Zone
Matthew 5:1-12. ”Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down.” What followed was the beautiful sermonette of “Blessed are they”…it was also a challenge that Jesus gave to all his disciples. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into the blessed with our small groups.
Wednesday, November 8, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, in The Zone
Matthew 25:1-13. Are you ready for your test? College? A zombie apocalypse? There are things in life that we should be prepared for, dedicating time and planning for what might happen. Jesus tells us the same is true for Heaven. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into preparing with our small groups.
NIGHT OUT WITH URBAN PEAK
Thursday, November 9, Outside at FUMC
Reach out to your family, friends, peers, and coworkers to raise awareness and support for Urban Peak. Sleep outside with us on November 9, at First United Methodist Church downtown (yes, it probably will be cold). November is National Runaway & Homeless Youth month, and your Night Out will bring more youth inside safe shelter this winter. Adults and young people (minimum age 14) can spend the night at Night Out. Adults are challenged to raise $1,000 or more. Student or student groups of ages 14-21 are challenged to raise $250 or more.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Julian McGinn, Volunteer and Development Coordinator if you have any questions. Julian.McGinn@urbanpeak.org
719-630-3223 ext. 2827
Wednesday, November 15, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, in The Zone
With a break on the horizon and big tests right now, let us all calm down, take ours seats, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the show. The YAT team will pick a movie that we will all enjoy.
THANKSGIVING BREAK - No Youth Meeting

Mark 13:24-37. Doom and Gloom. Storms and Darkness. Fig Trees and Watches. Sometimes the Bible has some heavy topics, and it is our job as Christians and students to remain faithful that God is preparing for us, just as we are preparing for him. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into faithfulness with our small groups.
