We hope to see in The Zone at FUMC this year!
9:00 am - 9:30 am BREAKFAST CLUB in THE ZONE
Continental style breakfast and hanging out.
Join us for a bite to eat, game to play, catching up with friends, making new ones, or an early morning nap. Cereal, snacks, juice, even waffles. Our gracious hosts Lynda and Heather continue to love us, by feeding our stomachs. Life is already hard; so don’t make it harder, by skipping breakfast.
9:30 am - 10:30 am YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS, HIBBARD HALL
Led by Zach Walker, Hibbard Hall
This Youth Sunday School class focuses on being intentional. Intentionally listen to God, for God, and seeing him anywhere and everywhere. We take the songs that make it on the radio. Listen for what God can teach us through others, as we share scripture, ideas, and stories, that not only inspire, but remind us that God is not just at Church. In October we will be talking about harder topics, so we will need “harder” music. Rock, Rap, and the Fruit of the Spirit, all in Rocktober.

10:30 am - 11:00 am HANG TIME in THE ZONE

JUSTICE FOR ALL - October 3
Mark 10:2-16. This week in The Gospel, Jesus is asked about divorce, stands up for social justice, and “took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them”. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into Justice with our small groups.
STUFF MART - October 10
Mark 10:17-31. Jesus has a knack for answering questions with other questions. What is good? What is eternal life? What aisle is that on? As we continue through Mark, we find ourselves looking in the wrong places for true happiness. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into Happiness with our small groups.
THE GREAT and MIGHTY...SERVANT - October 17
Mark 10:35-45. Have you ever repeated yourself over and over and over again… and still nobody listens? Well even Jesus dealt with that. There is a place for all disciples, but the mission we are called on is a righteous and tough one. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into Practice with our small groups.
URBAN PEAK (Learn about our neighbors) - October 24
Tonight, we will have speakers from Urban Peak come and educate about this incredible ministry. Urban Peak Colorado Springs ignites the potential in youth to exit homelessness and create self-determined, fulfilled lives. Our shelter, street outreach and housing programs reach approximately 600 youth annually in the Pikes Peak Region. Located in downtown Colorado Springs, UPCS employs 24 people, and our programs operate on a budget of approximately $1.4 million annually. We will be hosting Night Out on November 8.
HALLOWEEN PARTY - October 31
Dress up and bring friends, Halloween themed games, and plenty of candy to spare. School appropriate costumes…It is Church (keep that in mind). Bonus points to anyone who dresses like John Wesley!

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS IN THE ZONE! 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm; Meal included
GIVE IT YOUR ALL - November 7
Mark 12:38-44. “But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny.” What can we give, poor as we are? We can give him our heart. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into Sacrifice with our small groups.
MOVIE NIGHT - November 14
Incredible. It is almost Thanksgiving Break, let us get ready for our family, pop some popcorn, and have a super time together!
THANKSGIVING BREAK NO YOUTH - November 21
Enjoy your family time. Give thanks. Eat a LOT. Travel safe.
THE BIG IDEA - November 28
Mark 12:28-34. “You are not far from the Kingdom of God”…Jesus said these words. We can learn from the teachers, the words, the questions, but if we do not act out our faith, we’ll miss the Big Idea Jesus came to Live Out. After dinner, games, and music we will be digging into The Greatest Commandment with our small groups.
Youth & Adult LYM Gatherings
YOUTH ADVISORY TEAM (YAT) MEETINGS
Sunday, October 14
11:00 am, The Zone
Every so many weeks a few of us gather to reflect on past youth events and plan upcoming gatherings. The YAT would love to add your voice to the plans. Next meeting dates will be posted soon.
YLM GROWING GATHERING
Wednsesdays - September 19, October 17, November 14
5:45 pm - 6:25 pm, Zach's Office
Leaders are learners. Each youth ministry volunteer is asked to continue growing together with God and our team on behalf of our teenagers and church. We will take this opportunity to hear a presentation on an important topic facing teenagers and have an un-hurried conversation — which is just not possible during the normal course of our activities. Thank you, leaders, for your faithfulness! Next meeting dates TBD.
STAND at Urban Peak
First Friday of each month
3:15 pm - 5:00 pm, Urban Peak Shelter
STAND (STudents And Nourishing Dinners) is our youth mission of preparing dinners at Urban Peak (a shelter for homeless teens). We are looking for youth to volunteer with the cooking. Also, we are in need of various food items. If you are interested in helping with any of these needs please text/call Sam Brooks at 719-494-3303.
