There are a number of volunteer groups that are organized as Welcoming or Hospitality Ministries and they are described below but we don’t believe it is the sole responsibility of these volunteers to make you feel welcomed. It is our hope that when you visit or worship at First United Methodist Church you feel welcomed by our friendly congregation.
If you enjoy serving God’s people by extending the welcome and greeting of Christ, we invite you to consider volunteering on any of these teams. Please email Melissa Williams, Director of Welcoming Ministries at email@example.com or contact her by phone at 471-8522 x237.
These dedicated hospitality hosts exhibit the spiritual gift of hospitality. They are easily distinguished by their red jackets. They serve as a first "point of contact" at entrance doors on Nevada Avenue and St. Vrain Street. Andrew Ministers are also stationed at the Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings for those seeking information or directions. Because this group of volunteers attends regular communications meetings they are well versed in the activities of the church and therefore able to assist you. Please sign in at the Welcome Desk and receive a visitors packet if you are a first time or returning visitor so that we are able to follow up with you.
Teams rotate as scheduled by head ushers every other month to serve the sanctuary worship services at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 am on Sundays, as well as serving for special seasonal services, concerts, and funerals as scheduled. Detailed job descriptions and training are available to new ushers at the time they are enlisted to serve.
