Family Ministries at Prairie Campus

Our children and youth matter. They matter to God and they matter to us. It is a joy to show up in their lives, investing in them, loving them, listening to them, partnering with their parents, and showing them how to be disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

For Children

Sunday Mornings

In Prairie KIDS Sunday School, your children will participate in an age-appropriate Bible learning time that is both fun and meaningful.

When you enter the school by the side entrance you will immediately find the kids check-in area. There you can check in your children, ages infant through 5th grade.  If your children are infant through preschool you may directly escort them to their classroom following check-in. Children ages K-5th grade attend worship for the first part of the service for a time of singing and a children’s sermon, and then depart for Sunday School.  Children are also always welcome to stay in the worship service with their parents if that is preferred.

Prairie Campus Children’s Choir

Kids ages 3rd -5th grade are invited to this children’s choir that rehearses weekly on Tuesdays from 3:35 to 4:45 pm at the Banning Lewis Ranch Academy, 7094 Cottonwood Tree Drive. The choir will share their songs occasionally at the Prairie Campus but children from other churches or of no church are welcome to participate.  To register or for more info: Contact the Prairie Campus Children’s Choir Director Jeanne Stiles at

For Youth

Sunday Mornings

Youth, ages 6th-12 grade, are invited to attend Sunday morning worship services with their families.

Weekly Youth Group

Prairie YOUTH (grades 6-12) are invited to meet weekly for youth group starting in the early fall with our Director of Youth Ministry, Lindsay Contoveros and her wonderful team of volunteers.  Youth will come together for an incredible night of inspiration, fun and fellowship together.

Retreats and Mission Trips

In addition to weekly youth group, Prairie YOUTH will be able to participate in an overnight fall retreat, winter retreat, and summer work week at First United Methodist Church (FUMC) John Wesley Ranch, located near Divide, Colorado, about an hour’s drive from the Springs.  This beautiful ranch, complete with a bunkhouse, showers, a chapel, labyrinth, sledding hill, prayer walk, and historic lodge is the perfect place for our young people to get away in nature to experience the love of God and build supportive friendships to last a lifetime.

Annual mission trips, in conjunction with Downtown FUMC’s youth group, are a highlight of the youth program.  These trips usually take place for 7 to 10 days during the month of June.
