Children's Choirs
We have an incredibly strong, long-standing tradition of excellent Children's Music here at First United Methodist Church. Dedicated professionals have directed our children's choirs for years instilling a sound musical and spiritual foundation.
We are pleased to offer choir to children aged Kindergarten and 6th grade. There are two singing choirs and one hand bell choir.
All children's choir rehearse on Wednesday evenings at the times noted below beginning in September and ending in late spring. Membership is open to children in elementary school at any time throughout the year. The children typically perform a Christmas ans Spring concert and sing in worship on a monthly basis at each of the three sanctuary services. When your child's choir sings in a worship service, we ask that they arrive a half-hour prior to that service time to robe and warm-up. When participating in worship, children's choirs sing early in the service, stay for Children's Time, and then may be dismissed where they can then attend Sunday School or be picked up by a parent.

Meet the Directors
Mrs. Janice Kinsley is the Music Associate at FUMC. Her education is in piano, organ and music education. She is the accompanist for the Youth Singers, sings in the Chancel Choir and rings in the adult hand bell choir, Chancel Ringers. Mrs. Kinsley has directed a children's choir at First United Methodist Church for over 20 years and is especially loving with the "little ones," K-2nd grade.
| Mrs. Jeanne Stiles has over 25 years experience teaching elementary music. She is also active in the Chancel Choir. Jeanne says, "Sharing the gift of music with children is what speaks to me!" Her forte was in elementary vocal music and after being retired she missed her vocation. We are pleased to have her working with our 3rd - 6th grade children and know you will be too.
