| Welcome Dr. Patricia Lindau, Preschool Director - Wednesday, March 03, 2010The FUMC Preschool is pleased to introduce its new director as of July 1, 2009. Dr. Patricia Lindau! She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position. Patty holds a Doctor of Education from Harvard University and directed a large downtown church preschool for seven years. Patty is an expert in developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
In the past year, the FUMC Preschool has re-articulated its vision and curriculum. We aim to provide a whole child wellness model that centers on relational spirituality. Under Rev. Dr. Leanne Hadley's guidance, teachers will begin to integrate spirituality into their classrooms.
We are thrilled to welcome Patty to Children's Ministries!

Mom's Morning Out Program |

An experience rich atmosphere provides a spiritual and social-emotional foundation for your child. Each class has a high child-teacher ratio and two loving qualified teachers. Classes available for 12 months to 3 years.
Bears’ Place: Children 12-24 months are encouraged to explore their environment through play, story time, games, music and art. Located on the first floor in Room 119. Program hours: 9-12:15 pm, Monday- Friday.
Treehouse: Children 24-36 months are provided with a variety of opportunities to support the next steps in their development as they play and learn in a nurturing and supportive setting. Located on the second floor, in room 211 N. . Program hours: 9-12:15 pm, Monday- Friday.

 | Preschool: FUMC Preschool is a highly regarded program that successfully partners with parents to nurture and facilitate a relationship with each individual child that promotes trust and demonstrates God’s love. Based on relational spirituality, children experience prayer, stillness and wonder in their day-to-day activities as well as during specially designated sacred time.
Using the whole child wellness model this program is designed to enrich your child physically, spiritually, cognitively, emotionally, and socially. Students gain important classroom and socialization skills that are critical for a positive transition to elementary school. Children to gain confidence academically as they learn about numbers, engage in science experiments, literacy and prewriting activities as well as process-orient.
This state-licensed program offers keypad safety and a cleanly environment in a convenient downtown setting. Morning classes are available for 3, 4 and pre-kindergartners. Program hours: Monday –Friday 9-12:30. Optional Before and After School Care may be offered when enrollment minimums are met.
Junior Kindergarten: This class is specifically designed for older 4 year olds and young 5 year olds to prepare them for Kindergarten. Junior Kindergarten offers a more academic curriculum. Children attend Monday - Thursday mornings. By attending class four consecutive days, children benefit from a consistent routine that makes the transition to Kindergarten easier.
What is the difference between Preschool and Junior Kindergarten? Older 4 year olds and young 5 year olds are ready for new challenges. An added day of school allows for greater depth and diversity in the curriculum and greater social opportunities. If you have questions, please feel free to call Patricia directly at 719-884-2500.
