Short Films with Soul
April 10-May 8
Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30 pm
Room 52 (South Basement)
Leader: Todd Spencer
Early in time, humans would share stories around the campfire and find their souls strengthened and fed. Films today have much of theis same kind of power. During this class each week, we will be watching a short film (usually around 10-15 minutes in length) that tells a soulful story. Then, we will have a conversation about where we see connections with our own stories of faith and life.

Praying The Scriptures Podcast
You are invited to pray the scriptures with us each week by visiting our Praying the Scriptures Lectio Divina podcast page, hosted by Rev. Todd Spencer (http://lectiodivinatodd.wordpress.com/).  Todd will be guiding you through multiple readings of the sermon text for the following Sunday’s worship service. You are encouraged to share about your experience on the podcast webpage as well. Consider inviting a friend or two to join you as a way of growing together with God.

Serve Our Homeless Teen Neighbors

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me. (Matthew 25:35-36)

Help our congregation get to know and serve persons right here in our neighborhood. Join Rev. Todd Spencer in preparing and serving breakfast for our downtown homeless teenagers at Urban Peak.  We serve on scheduled dates at Urban Peak (423 E. Cucharras St) at 7:10am and are finished by 8:15am. Todd's been cooking breakfast at UP since the Fall of 2008, and he will enjoy introducing you to his friends and showing you the ropes. You must register with Todd (todds@fumc-cs.org) as there are limited spots open each time (it's a small kitchen).

Spring 2013 Dates:
January: 7 and 14
February: 11 and 25
March: 4 and 18
April: 8 and 22
May: 6 and 20

College Age Group
Sunday Mornings
We are forming a new college-age, short-term, group around Donald Miller's video series called The Open Table (http://jointheopentable.com/). We are open to forming the group during either the 9:30 or 11:00am Sunday morning time slots, which ever works best for the most. Check out the Donald's website and let Todd Spencer know if your are interested in being a part of the group.
"The Open Table introduces believers and nonbelievers to the person and deity of Christ in a new and refreshing way."
