Women's Ministry Mission Groups Mission. The word brings up images of astronauts, the Alamo, and endless corporate meetings. As Christians our mission is to demonstrate God's love for all people, and to tell the Good News of Jesus.
It's about making a real difference in the world.
The Gospel - the Good News of God's love and gifts of redemption and reconciliation - empowers the work of mission. Making disciples, building up the church, alleviating suffering, and promoting justice, freedom, and peace are mission goals.
United Methodist missionaries witness and serve in dramatically different locales and cultures and engage in a range of professions and activities. The missionaries' goals are:
- Make Disciples of Jesus Christ
- Strengthen, develop and renew Christian congregations and communities
- Alleviate human suffering
- Seek justice, freedom and peace
The Board of Global Ministries is the mission arm of the United Methodist Church, and it has eight program areas, the Women's Division (United Methodist Women) and General Administration.
